Artefacts at the Centre for International Light Art Unna

May 03, 2015

The photos emphasize the artefacts at the Centre for International Light Art in Unna, they are without people. There is another page light-people-unna showing some people at the same location.

To cite the exhibition catalogue: „The Centre for International Light Art in Unna has a worldwide unique profile: it is the first and so far only museum dedicated exlusively to light art. The collection, founded in 2001, focuses on one of the most advanced genres of contemporary art. The most famous light artists of their time have created light installations exclusively for the maze-like vaulted cellars of the former Lindenbrauerei. This unconventional cosmos of a space deep below ground and its individual architectural offshoots above ground gather original works by Christian Boltansky, Olafur Eliasson, Johannes Dinnebier, Rebecca Horn, Brigitte Kowanz, Joseph Kosuth, Mischa Kuball, Christina Kubisch, Mario Merz, Francois Morellet, Jan van Munster, Keith Sonnier and James Turrell.“

In case you are in Unna, Germany, this exhibition is worth a visit.
